               COVID-19 Advice (issued 18 March 2020)

Given the current circumstances we've had a high number of groups make contact with us, and, due to the amount of effort put into rehearsals/marketing etc, most of them have so far wanted to re-schedule rather than cancel. We're not charging fees for any deferral of productions.

If you decide to postpone your production you probably won't know the dates for later in the year, or next year, yet, but please advise us nevertheless, and we'll issue a new temporary licence to show a date range of 2-3 months which you can then refine with us when the actual production dates are known.

Regarding cancellation: our administration fee will not be levied where you are forced to cancel your production.

Synopsis

Douglas Mounce in 'Twinkle Little Star' by Philip Meeks‘Twinkle’ is a one man revenger’s comedy chronicling a forgotten history and a dying art. Underneath the stage Harold Thropp lays out the tools of his art in a dingy dressing room with creaking pipes and no natural light. A well worn pair of tights. Stolid black boots. Ancient sticks of grease paint and setting powder. A moth-eaten black wig fraying round the mesh.

For decades Harold has lived his life in tune with seasons of pantomime, as a doyen of the pantomime dame. One of the last of a dying breed Harold may be feeling his age but he’s resisting changes to the world he loves with a vengeance. As he prepares once again to revive his favourite character Widow Twankey, he’s decided to make the ultimate stand against his nemesis, a smug reality television star called Jez.

As Harold starts to become the Widow his tragic secrets unfold and we discover startling truth behind the dark act he’s preparing to commit.
