Still Lives

    by Tony Layton

Synopsis

Black Comedy Play: 'Still Lives' by Tony LaytonThe play is a tragic comedy which examines the course of a childless marriage between Bob and Maggie. Their lives and reflections on life as a pair of 70 year olds play out in contrast to the earlier part of their lives as 20 year olds.

Maggie believes that children are crucial for a successful marriage. Bob has other ideas. Is the future world the ideal place to rear the next generation? Bob doesn’t think so. Life would be a comedy if it were not for its tragic ending.
