Synopsis
An adult fairy tale with a twist.
Princess Maud has had enough of royal life and leaves the palace to become a secretary to a firm of solicitors. But try as she may, she cannot rid herself of her crown and royal ways. When she finally succeeds in casting off a very physical tie to her past, an unexpected event compels Maud to review her decision.
A modern comedy, this play is a royal story played by characters performing a role play. It should be easy to cast and requires one set. |
- Maud - 20s/30s, once princess, attractive, assertive, outspoken
- Crust - 40s/50s,Maud's ex servant, both obsequious and arrogant in manner, a man with insight
- Prince Jonny - 20s/30s Maud's ex-fiancé, handsome but weak with a fondness for all things royal
- Carol - 30s/40s, aromatherapist, smart, impatient and efficient, with little respect for class or status
- Charlie - 30s/40s, an opportunist with an eye for valuables
- Linda - 30s/40s, Charlie's partner, suspicious minded, pessimistic with an answer for everything
