Synopsis
“The world’s favourite pantomime, given a magical new lease of life.”
This timeless tale of Cinderella who goes from rags to riches will delight audiences of all ages. With mirth, magic and mayhem it has all the right ingredients for a successful production. In this version the two Ugly Sisters fulfil the roles of the Dame character.
The story follows the traditional tale with the Ugly step-sisters mistreatment of Cinderella in the Mansion kitchen; the faithful Buttons who is in love with her; Cinderella’s kindness to the old woman who turns out to be her Fairy Godmother; a magical transformation, the splendour of the Ball and the handsome Prince; the dramatic exit as the clock strikes midnight; the hunt for the slipper’s owner and the glorious happy ending.
Interwoven throughout are the comedy antics of two Policemen, Sergeant Letsby-Avenue and his inept son PC99, and their search for the infamous villain Burglar Bill. How these characters interact will become clear as the evening wears on!
With twelve principals and a chorus that can be any size, there is plenty of scope for big production numbers and fairytale sets. There are five main sets with numerous smaller scenes played in front of secondary tabs. |
