Synopsis
A bittersweet and lovely story about love, life, and loss.
Marcia Mayfield, an American, has returned to the same hotel on the Riviera every August for the last forty-three years. There, she meets up with the one true love of her life, Charles DÁnjou, and they spend two weeks together despite the fact that each is married to someone else.
This summer, however, Marcia’s adult daughter shows up unannounced, and Marcia must juggle her efforts to help Carol choose her life’s path while trying to find a way to tell Charles she must finally end the affair. Can Marcia keep her secret from Carol, and is the affair the only secret Marcia’s hiding? What is the dark secret only Charles knows? |

Characters
(2m, 2f)
|
Marcia Mayfield - |
An elegant, affluent American woman in her late fifties. She is more surprised than anyone to find herself embroiled in a thirty-plus year affair in Monaco. She is usually calm, but she is high energy and likes to keep moving. She is married to Douglas Mayfield, but her one true love is Charles DÁnjou. |
Charles DÁnjou - |
An equally elegant, well-bred Frenchman. He is also in his fifties or early sixties. He is handsome and romantic and has a lovely French accent. |
Carol Mayfield - |
Marcia’s adult daughter who arrives unannounced from the US. Carol is a free-spirit and fairly unusual in her tastes. She does not fit in well with the Mayfield family. Bubbly, happy American, about thirty. |
Pierre St. Armand - |
The hotel manager at the resort where Marcia stays each year when she comes to Monaco. He can be any age over sixty, but he is always elegant and dresses impeccably. (A supporting role). |
