Whatever Happened To Ruby Quicksilver?

    by Janet Shaw

Synopsis

Comedy Play: 'Whatever Happened To Ruby Quicksilver' by Janet Shaw

After turning her back on a glittering pop career, Ruby Quicksilver (now known as Francesca Morgan) opts for a quiet life running a boutique hotel in the mountains on the Costa Del Sol.

Life is good until the recession hits and the hotel starts to struggle. An opportunity arises to boost trade when a rogue fire results in the evacuation of the nearby Hotel Plaza in Fuengirola, but Frankie’s quiet life and anonymity are disrupted by the unexpected guests. Amongst the new arrivals are an old flame of Frankie’s, now married, with the wife from hell; two brothers, one of which is a total sex pest and who seems intent of upsetting the regular German clientele; and three girls on a hen do, one of them harbouring a dark secret which will wreck the life of the bride-to-be.

Throw in Frankie’s daughter Grace (who has left college to become a singer, much to her mother’s dismay) and the local sex-siren Venus, who isn’t exactly who she says she is, and temperatures begin to rise.

Watch the fireworks ignite as the story reaches an explosive climax. A very funny, and sometimes poignant, look at the lives of a diverse group of people who are inadvertently thrown together.
