Colclough, Adam

Adam Colclough

Adam is a Hod Carrier from Stockport who likes to write and would much rather be working on a plot for a play, than a plot for a building.

In 2015 he completed his first play ‘Nothing But The Roof’ a comedy/drama about three friends who find themselves in the same place at the same time, that place being, the rooftop of a block of flats.

Robin Thompson the Chairman of a local amateur society Poynton Players saw potential in Adam’s writing and very kindly gave him the opportunity to premiere the play in March 2017 and from the response, Adam was encouraged to write even more with Robin in his corner championing his work and offering kind words of advice, encouragement and enthusiasm.

From this positive theatrical experience and building on his new relationship with Poynton Players and the support of its members, Adam premiered two One Act plays there in December 2017 - ‘Answer’ and ‘There’s Nobody At The Door’ under the title ‘Simplicity’ and for which Stagescripts Ltd hold the license for.

‘Rollercoaster’ his new full-length play, also premiered at Poynton Players in July 2019 and is about two disparate lost souls that meet by chance late one night, and the following thirty-six hours leads them both on a journey of discovery, hope, acceptance and ultimately, peace and happiness.

Adam was a winning finalist in the Windsor Fringe Kenneth Branagh International Writing Awards 2019 with his One Act Play ‘One, Two...TREE’.

Although Adam stopped acting professionally some years ago, he has appeared in numerous commercials, one off dramas, established TV series, soaps, theatre, radio and corporate.
