Paul Adam Levy is a playwright of one act and full length plays with works in the black comedy and drama genres. He has won the UK National Drama Festival Association playwriting award, the Isle of Man TheatreFest best one-act play, and a number of new playwriting awards. His plays have been performed across the UK and in the US. His one act plays include Thank You For Protesting, An Order Of Lunacy, Career Day, Rally Cry and House Proud. His full length works include Amy And The Alliance and Ten Dead Dogs. His plays look to highlight everyday absurdities on a range of political and social subjects. Paul Adam studied film-making at the University of South Wales where he majored in screenwriting. Other writing works include micro-plays, novels, sitcoms, radio plays and short films. He also gives lectures on storytelling and narrative structure. Thank You For Protesting was first performed by North London theatre group Saint Monica’s Players (SMP) at the Waltham Forest and the Welwyn Theatre festivals. It has won two new writing awards and the NDFA best unpublished play award in 2016. SMP have performed several of his plays which have won a number of awards and nominations at UK festivals, including best unpublished play, best director, and acting awards. An Order Of Lunacy, a one act play about the Victorian Lunacy Act and women’s rights in 19th century Britain, was Paul Adam’s first drama. It won the Isle of Man TheatreFest writing award in 2018. |
